By the time I was 13 years old I knew I wanted to make my living as a radio announcer. At 14 I became the WPDQ Radio Station 'go-fer'... go for sandwiches, coffee, and other misc errands. One Saturday morning I had spend the previous night at the radio station. After being up for more than 24 hours I was getting sleepy so I went for an early morning walk around town. On my walk I found a hole in the wall news stand that also sold paperback books. One book caught my eye, "Think And Grow Rich". Once I understood the history of how that book came into existence I was fully addicted to learning everything I could about how to be successful in life. The author of TAGR was Napoleon Hill, as a high school teenager back in the hills, hollars and mountains of Pound, Virginia, Hill would go out and interview the local businessmen to learn how they became successful. His stories ended up appearing in the local newspaper. Later Hill went to college in Washington, DC. Upon graduation in 1911 he decided he wanted to interview Andrew Carnegie, the steel magnate who at that time was the richest man in the history of the world. Surely he could sell that interview to a major publisher. Hill wrote Carnegie in Pittsburg requesting a three hour interview. Carnegie wrote back granting Hill's request. On the day of the interview as it was approaching the three hour mark Carnegie said, "Mr Hill, I have a special project and I think you're the perfect person to undertake and complete this project. Would you be my guest at my house for the next three days while I explain what I'd like for you to do? Hill accepted. Over the next three days Carnegie said he couldn't figure out why he and his industrial buddies were so successful. He continued, either we know something the average person doesn't yet know or we're doing something the average person isn't yet doing. I can't figure it out. I think everybody should be rich. By the end of the third day what Carnegie offered Hill was a letter of introduction to any, all and every industrial giant at the time: Henry Ford: George Westinghouse; Thomas Edison and the others who were all considered to be the biggest industrial giants the world had ever known. Carnegie said, "What I'm looking for from you is a 20 rear research commitment. There's no money involved but once done whatever you do with what you've learned is yours to do with as you wish." Carnegie died in 1919 and never saw the final report of what Hill had learned. In 1932 Hill wrote a report that ultimately became the book, TAGR. Since the date it was published in 1937 no non-fiction book, except for the Christian Bible has outsold TAGR, Best sellers 2,3,4,5,6, and 7 are all fiction books. TAGR is the top non-fiction best seller at #8. Here's what's in Hill's book that makes it so valuable. After over 500 interviews of the greatest industrial giants the world has ever know Hill found only 13 common denominators. The book TAGR has 15 chapters. Chapters 2-through-14 are the 13 common denominators of every super successful person you have ever read about. Once you know the behaviors that cause super success you can do what they have done. The book is your roadmap. Get it. Read it. Learn it. Do it. (More in the next episode.)
What do you want more than anything else life as to offer?
Every success teacher, trainer, guide and guru all agree the beginning of becoming successful at anything is desire, to know in advance exactly what you want. The reason most people never achieve higher levels of success is they want everything under the sun and they want it all immediately... if not sooner. The big question is, what ONE THING do you want more than anything else? Here's how to find out the answer to that critically important question. Take several sheets of 8-1/2" X 11" sheets of blank paper. Begin to write down anything and everything you either need or want. Don't ignore even the most ridiculous items that come to mind. The only qualification for anything on your list is, if you want it write it down. Ultimately you won't be able to think of anything that's not already on your list. When this happens go over your list and scratch off the one item you care the least about. Next, do it again, and again, and again until there's only one item left on your list. From that point forward the key to your success is based on the degree you are laser focused on the ONE ITEM you want more than anything else. Goal wise I didn't always know the specifics but generally speaking my goal was to be the best in the world at whatever activity I was involved in. (More in the next episode.)

What is your biggest "WHY"?
Why do you want what what you want more than anything else life as to offer?
Why do you want what what you want more than anything else life as to offer?
This part is called 'The Big Why.' 'The Big Why' should become your magnificent obsession. Having a crystal clear image in your mind of why you're willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goal is the absolute, complete and total source of your motivation. Without this you might as well stay in bed for the rest of the day.
How Good Does it Get?
An investment banker was taking a much-needed vacation in a small coastal village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.
The boat had several large, fresh fish in it.
The investment banker was impressed by the quality of the fish and asked the man how long it took to catch them.
The man replied, “Only a little while.”
The banker then asked why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more fish.
The fisherman replied he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs.
The banker then asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The fisherman replied, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a nap with my wife, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my friends. I have a full and busy life.”
The investment banker scoffed, “I am an Ivy League MBA, and I could help you.
You could spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats until eventually, you would have a whole fleet of fishing boats.
Instead of selling your catch to the middleman you could sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You could control the product, processing, and distribution.”
Then he added, “Of course, you would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to the city where you would run your growing enterprise.”
The fisherman asked, “But sir, how long will this all take?”
To which the banker replied, “15-20 years.”
“But what then?” asked the fisherman.
The banker laughed and said, “That’s the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You could make millions.”
The fisherman nodded, “Millions, sir? Then what?”
To which the investment banker replied, “Then you would retire.
You could move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take naps with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your friends.”
So again, let me ask you, how good does it get?

How much is enough?
The CBS Radio Mystery Theater was a 10PM daily radio series that lasted for nine years. There were a total of 1,399 stories. Episode #905 first broadcast on October 13, 1978, "HOW MUCH LAND IS ENOUGH?" changed my life forever. Set in the colonial era, it was the story of Virginia Indians selling off their land before they moved farther west beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains. The land offer was a man had to put up a deposit of $100 pounds sterling and that entitled the buyer to own as much land as he could walk or run around in one day. On the day after the buyer put up his deposit he could start off from the Indian village at sunrise to walk or run around all the land he wanted. His companion rode on horseback to mark the perimeter of the land the buyer wanted. If the buyer failed to make it back to the village before sunset he would lose his deposit and get nothing. Each time the companion would remind the buyer they were running out of daylight the buyer would say "But I need that stand of trees over there or I need that mountain stream." At the end of the day as the sun was about to kiss the horizon the exhausted buyer returned to the village and bragged to the chief about how much land he had run around. Suddenly the buyer grabbed his chest and dropped dead of a heart attack. The chief said, "Give that man some land over there, 6' long, 6' deep and 3' wide. That's how much land is enough." Prior to hearing this story I was playing the game of life as though with enough drive and dedication I was like the buyer... I wanted it all and I was going to have it all. Once I heard this story I began to rethink my approach to life. For me personally, the question became, how much is enough? (More in the next episode.)

Universal Laws
Everything you have ever done came with rules: driving a car; piloting a plane; operating a boat; even going to work for a new employer. Making your way through life also comes with rules known as 'Universal Laws'. Some of these rules you may never have heard of before but, they still impact your life in major ways. Coming up are the 12 laws most experts seem to agree on. Some among the experts claim there may be are as many as 50 laws.

LIFE OFFERS YOU THREE CHOICES... GIVE UP... GIVE IN... OR GIVE IT EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT
The Secret of Life
A father used to say to his children when they were young: —When you all reach the age of 12 I will tell you the secret of life. One day when the oldest turned 12, he anxiously asked his father what was the secret of life. The father replied that he was going to tell him, but that he should not reveal it to his brothers.
—The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk. "What are you saying?" Asked the boy incredulously. —As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it. You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of manure, tie the tail, hobble the legs of the cow, sit on the stool, place the bucket and do the work yourself.
That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don't get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if "I wish, I ask..... I obtain."
"They have been accustomed to get whatever they want the easy way...But no, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration."
So, share with your children from a young age the secret of life, so they don't grow up with the mentality that the government, their parents, or their cute little faces is going to give them everything they need in life.
Remember: "Cows don't give milk; you have to work for it."

RELATIONSHIPS
(1) German Pilot Saved a Damaged American B-17 in WW2
During the five grim years of World War 2, all of the countries involved created an effective propaganda system that portrayed enemy soldiers as monsters who deserved nothing more than death.
British, American, German, Russian, and Japanese army departments were tasked with creating a false reality where stereotypes, racism, and discrimination were used to humiliate the enemy and increase the hatred between adversaries.
However, the reality of war was often different.
On the Western Front, enemies were mostly treated with respect, according to old laws of war. Although it may seem unlikely, acts of honor and soldier camaraderie depicting the ancient Warrior Ethos were no strange thing to the Second World War soldiers.
Especially among air force pilots, mutual respect and acts of honor shared by aviators resembled the medieval acts of chivalry.
A young 21-year-old USAF pilot, Charlie Brown, experienced first-hand the virtuous conduct exhibited by a Luftwaffe pilot during a bombing raid when his B-17 bomber was severely damaged and about to go down.
After the German pilot, Franz Stigler, realized the American crew was defenseless, he took the dangerous decision of escorting the aircraft to safety across German-controlled territory.
It was an almost unbelievable tale of two pilots that met each other as enemies in the skies of WW2, survived, and died as best friends and real kamaraden.
